Byron- Gaines Hat Day

The Byron-Gaines Angles for a cure, Relay for Life Team is sponsoring the third annual Community Hat Day, Friday, May 9. For a $1 donation to the American Cancer Society, everyone is welcome to wear their favorite hat for the day. For more information call Denise Markley (810) 266-4242

BDP Golf Outing

The Byron Downtown Project's (BDP) Third Annual Golf Outing will be held at Willowbrook Golf Club on Saturday, May 10. We LOWERED this year's golf pricing in hopes that our fun and fearless golfers will participate yet again, and we are looking forward to see new faces too. Rest assured this event is for amateurs, this is a perfect outing to swing a club for the first time!

Soup Supper

All the Soup you care to eat, plus Cornbread, Pie and Beverage Friday, May 16th 5 - 6:30 p.m. at the Byron First United Methodist Church 101 S. Ann St. Byron. Donational Cost. Proceeds will go to Byron-Gaines Angels for a Cure "Relay for Life".

 

C.D.L. Seminar

Want to sell your extra stuff on eBay? Learn how at the Community District Library Byron branch on Wednesday, May 21 at 4:00 P.M. This workshop will be led by representatives from the United States Postal Service. Please register for the Byron seminar at (810) 266-4620 ext. 445.

 

Byron Fireworks Friends

The Byron Fireworks Friends have completed another successful fundraiser. The Annual Benefit Auction was held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the High School Cafeteria. David Kelly, an associate with Narhi Auctioneer Associates, auctioned off 217 items to 65 registered bidders.

Memorial Day Ceremonies

VFW Rauch-Tower Post No. 5822 is organizing the event and would like to invite everyone to join them at 1 p.m. Monday, May 26 to observe the
annual parade and Memorial Day remembrance services. The group says it would like to make this year a special year because of the ongoing events in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Recycling

Bring your recyclable materials every second Saturday of the month to the Burns Township Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will be there to assist with sorting.
