NICHOLAS BRADEN

Another pioneer came into Burns Township in 1836 on Section 32. He was born in Germany in 1808, the youngest of 10 children. His mother died when he was three years old. He was sent to London, England to live with a sister and when he was seventeen he came to America from there. He first married Catherine Lahring and four children were born to them with only one surviving. When Catherine died, he remarried to Deborah Miner and five more children were added to the family. From Eliza who married Alexander Orr, the family names of Goff, Hoisington, Wadley, and Fox have sprung and the family name of Orr continues in the community. Son’s Luther and Franklin remained in the community. From daughter Emily, the Carl Eddy family came as he married Emily’s daughter Mary.
