Home of Levi and Mary Tower Newman. They had 7 children; Perl, Jim, Orlando, Eva, twins Alta and Elna, and Delia. Their mother was an aunt to Ellen May Tower the Spanish American War nurse who died of typhoid fever in Puerto Rico. The cabin was built by an uncle, Theodore Tower in the 1860’s. He had given 100 days of work for the five acres of land the house stands on and then built the cabin from timber as he cleared the land. Levi had a cider mill on this location run by a gas engine. Mary Tower Newman came from a family of 14 children.
