In 1991, a group of Byron area community members formed the Byron Community Scholarship Fund (BCSF).  Through the assistance of the Shiawassee Foundation, a non-profit community foundation, a fund evolved designed to provide scholarships to any Byron High School graduate (past or present) to assist them in their pursuit of higher education.

Scholarships are awarded every year for vocational school, trade school, or to college bound students.  All scholarships are awarded from the interest the fund generates, therefore, awards from the fund for scholarships will always be available.

As of May 2006, the fund provided  scholarships totaling $67,500.   As of February 2007, the BCSF totals over $164,000.00

Any graduate of Byron Area Schools or current seniors who would like information or an application  can contact  the school counselor or down load the application from this web site when available.
