These two families have fallen on hard times due to severe illness. The one family, both adults have cancer and have been nominated to have extreme Makeover to come and help with their living condition, lets hope and pray they are selected.

The other family, the dad is unable to work due to his illness and the mom is doing her best to keep up with the medical bills and household expenses.

Let's all join together and see how our town and those we know around here can do to ease the burden just a little for these people!

2008 Ultimate Sportsman's Package

Thank you for all your help.  Be watching for our next fundraiser, 2008 Ultimate Sportsman's Package.  This was a successful fundraiser  last year, co-sponsored with the Byron Downtown Project.  This year, we will be raffling multiple sportsman-related prizes (to be announced).  The tickets will be printed soon, and will be sold for $5 each or 3 for $10.  All funds will be split between the Byron Downtown Project and the Byron Chamber of Commerce.   The BDP is working with the Village Council on zoning issues and the Planning Commission for future plans for the downtown area.  The funds being raised by them are intended to fund a Downtown Development Authority in the future.  The Chamber has always been committed to the beautification of the downtown area and the Maple Street business district.  As we increase our funds from these fundraisers, we hope to be able to help fund some future improvements to the downtown area.  These are long-term projects, but each dollar puts us one step closer to the final goal.

As always, please visit www.byron.org for current events in Byron.  This is a great resource for all things Byron.  Use the Community Calendar to see what is coming up, and if you know if an event that is not listed, please email them via the website, and they will update the calendar with the information.

Have a great day!!
