BYRON
-- A community group is calling out for a few people to join its
ranks.
Members of the Byron
Area Lions Club say they need more volunteers. The group is looking for people within the Byron area to be a part of this time-tested community-based organization.
Some of the projects they have conducted over the years include:
- A Christmas food box drive with the V.F.W.
- Donated five sets of eyeglasses to Hurricane Katrina victims
- Shiawassee Humane Society
- Leader Dogs
- Welcome home for the blind
- Project Kid Sight
- White Cane Sales
- And assisted many other Byron area community organizations.
The Byron Area Lions Club was chartered in February 1979. And since that date they have met on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Burns Township Hall.
The group will be meeting Saturday, April 5,
2008 10Am - 1pm to sign up new members.
They hope to see you there.
