MISSION: The Byron Downtown Project's mission is to revitalize downtown Byron through quality economic growth, preservation, promotion and beautification.
PURPOSE:
The Byron Downtown Project (BDP) has been created for the expressed purpose of beautifying and preserving our unique hometown . Time has taken its toll on the place we call home, but together we can make time work for us and not against us. The BDP has started moving forward in a focused direction to restore and revitalize Byron to its full potential.
GOAL:
It is one of the BDP's goals to become an official Downtown Development Authority (DDA). DDA's facilitate the pulling together of creative and committed people and offer avenues for securing funds for future projects such as the expensive structural repairs needed on existing building facades and sidewalks (street-scaping), creating curb appeal and enticing new businesses (no more empty buildings!). All of that adds up to healthier commerce, increased hometown pride and overall property value appreciation. We believe that a DDA is essential in developing a viable downtown for Byron! |
